Zero, one, two, three......

Day 1: holding dad's finger
Time flies. Looking at my littlest one and seeing my almost 4 year old teenager, I can't believe how fast they really do grow up.  Here is a picture of Sas when she was first born, when she was 1,2 and 3. On Monday I will update you with pictures of her birthday and you will be able to see what 4 looks like!
One: At the coast, hiking on the beach
Two: picture taken by the very sweet and talented Hannah Nielsen. Hannah D. Photography
Three: loves to crash weddings

The hunger games

Source

Have you read the book the Hunger Games? Did you see the movie this weekend?  I bet you did at least one of these. I read the book (but haven't seen the movie yet) and loved it, it was such and easy read, I think I finished it in a single sitting.  I have heard great reviews about the movie as well- Paul and John ran out to see it this weekend and both loved it.  I can't wait to watch it and see what the studio's take on Katniss is.  It would be great to see a main character that is young, strong yet vulnerable, independent and confident, the world can use more role models like that. Below is Sas' interpretation of Katniss- the kid loves sticks but is too young to read the books or watch the movie.

More zoo memories

Friday was -yet again- a beautiful summer-like day. We went to the Kansas City zoo with some friends.  Thankfully, no animals escaped this time around. We toured Africa and Australia, had some ice cream and the little one fell asleep in the car on the way home. A fun and successful day. If you happen to be a Jackson or Clay county resident, you are in luck and you can enjoy a great discount on your entry into the park. I would highly recommend upgrading to the platinum package so you can enjoy all the rides for free (includes train, tram, carousel, African sky and safari boat).

Juneuary

It has been unseasonably warm here in Kansas City. Needless to say, we have spent a lot of time outdoors and at the park.  Here is a picture of the little lady at one of her favorite parks.
